Over-baked cupcakes
My cupcakes were a little dark on the bottom, how can I stop this from happening again?

Make sure that your oven is at the right temperature and that you're baking the cupcakes on the middle shelf. Also use a timer to make sure you don't bake them for too long. If this is the case, perhaps your oven has a hotter bottom element - try decreasing the temperature by 20 degrees - this may mean you'll need to bake for a tiny bit longer, but won't be as aggressively hot.
